Provision for young people between 11 & 14 years old

Once young people are at secondary school, they are beginning to make life choices which will have lasting significance.  At St Paul's, we are committed to helping young people make a clear commitment to follow Christ, which affects their lives at home and school.

The team of leaders are trained and supervised and we place a high value on safeguarding our young people.

On a Sunday

Adventure Time

Once a month, the group goes to a local café at the start of Open Door for breakfast - a full English, crepe, toast or just a drink.  This is very popular!  There is plenty of time in a relaxed environment to read the Bible, chat and explore the Christian faith.  On the other Sundays, they meet as a group, leaving the service around 10.30am for their own session, in which they read the Bible, pray, chat and explore each others questions about the faith.  The group uses Scripture Union's Light teaching material.

Not on Sunday

The young people in Years 7 and 9 go to a number of different secondary schools. They get together after school on Fridays between 4.45pm and 6pm for Adventure Time. They meet in the St Paul’s Centre for food (making pancakes, toast and pizza), play games, lots of chat and laughter, read the Bible and pray for one another. The young people can bring their friends. Adventure Time is energetic, noisy, fun, and very popular. We go bowling, to the cinema, decorate the church Christmas tree, visit Grace House (the local care home supported by the church), and enjoy trips out.
