Cemetery Cross Roads Cemetery. The cemetery is some 8 kms north-east of Le Cateau, France.

 

Harry was born in 1882 at Whelnetham, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. His parents were James, an agricultural labourer (b. 1849), and Susan (b.1844) Holden. He had at least two older brothers: Charles (b.1874) and James (b.1880).

Harry married Julia Marie Holden (1883-1974), who was born in Normandy, France, in 1904. They had four children: Arthur (b.1905), Ivy (b.1906), Julia Edith (b.1908) and Harry James (1910-2003). 

At the time of the 1911 census, the family were living at 2 Vineyard Terrace, Finchley. Harry’s occupation is listed as a Metropolitan Police Constable.

Harry enlisted in Bradford. He was killed in action. At the time of his death, his wife was living at 254, Long Lane, Finchley.
