World War 1 Memorials

Remembering the First World War

At St Paul’s we are remembering the hundredth anniversary of the Great War in a number of different ways. We have engaged in a major project researching the lives of those who are commemorated on our two 1st World War memorials. This has involved on-line investigation, visits to both the London Metropolitan Archives in Clerkenwell, where our parish records are stored, and the National Archives in Kew, and making contact with relatives of the the deceased combatants, a small number of whom we were delighted to welcome to our special Remembrance Sunday service on 9th November 2014.
